Pastor Matthew Dubner

I was born again on November 15th, 1990 when I heard the gospel of Christ from my old friend in St. Paul, Minnesota. While I was in trade school, my ex roommate also explained to me about the Lord Jesus Christ because my family is reformed Jewish and does not believe in Christ as their Messiah. After my old friend told me about the gospel, I felt almost saved, not in my heart but in my mind, thinking 'I am saved.'

Four years later, while I was in NTID College in Rochester, NY, I went to FBBC and learned about the Lord Jesus Christ. One night, my old roommate, who is a Christian and attends the same church as me, informed me that he had confirmed the assurance of his salvation. I was envious of his salvation. I returned to my dorm after dinner and took the Bible to read it. Suddenly, as I read the Bible verses, I struggled a few times. I decided to analyze myself and realized that my heart was empty without Christ, which meant I could go to Hell. But, I took a serious prayer and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my heart. I opened my eyes and suddenly the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ pounded my chest and took my sins out from my heart, replacing them with eternal life in just a few seconds. So, I checked myself to make sure that I am assured of my salvation. Then, I heard a great shout of angels over me, as if someone was shouting outside my room. I remembered that the Bible described how sinners repent for their sins and angels rejoice for the saved souls. I left NTID College for some reason, but I believed God had a plan for me. I attended IBC in Brooklyn for 22 years to serve the Lord. God called me to go to two Baptist Churches in New Jersey and be a deaf pastor.
